Several tornadoes have been confirmed across Alabama, with "extensive damage" reported. While we aren't a news agency, here is an overview of what happened.

Pelham Police later announced that a tornado had caused "extensive" damage to the Crosscreek subdivision south of Birmingham, and shared images of downed power lines and a home with a mostly destroyed roof, NBC News reports.
Approximately 16,000 customers were without power as of Thursday afternoon, according to a count by NBC News.

There are reports of "multiple" fatalities and injuries in Calhoun County, in the Ohatchee area, according to Tiffany DeBoer, spokesperson for the county's Emergency Management Agency.
In Shelby County, home to Birmingham, some homes have been completely destroyed, Sheriff John Samaniego said.
ABC News reports that a tornado was confirmed at 12:30 p.m. local time near Moundville, Alabama, outside of Tuscaloosa -- the same spot struck by a tornado eight days ago.
Just before 2 p.m. local time, an extremely large tornado was confirmed in Vandiver, Alabama, outside of Birmingham.
These tornadoes and storms are long-track types, which means that they go a far distance before fading out.
