Friday morning, December 11 update:
There is an increasing likelihood of some wintry precipitation on Wednesday. While exact temperatures, timing and intensity are still to be seen, this is definitely worth watching.
Above are 7am and 1pm Wednesday. As indicated by an orange line, snow remains to the west of Baltimore. However, some does move in to Baltimore. Additionally, a rain/snow mix or sleet could occur.
These are still not predictions that have significant confidence, however.
We will continue to monitor this winter storm threat.

There is what to watch for a winter storm next week. If it doesn't snow, it could result in heavy rainfall. So either way, it's worth watching.
The National Weather Service is advising that there is a slight risk of a winter storm for areas west of Baltimore.
Since it is still 6.5 days away, many details are still to be determined.
Above, snow is shown in teal/blue and rain, to the right of the line, is in green.
Typically, snow is more confidently predicted for areas west of Baltimore.
Our area is usually right near or on the cutoff line between snow and rain. This makes it extremely difficult to predict what will happen.
An updated forecast will be issued by Sunday with the latest.
